Yoga nidra promotes deep rest and relaxation that isn’t found in your average meditation practice and is more refreshing than deep sleep. It moves your body and your consciousness into an altered state of deep
rest and rejuvenation.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE HEALING
When you begin Yoga Nidra, your brain is generally in an active state of beta waves, a natural transitional experience as you start to slow down and press pause on your day.
The meditative practice then takes you into an alpha state, the brain wave frequency that links conscious thought with the subconscious mind. In alpha state Serotonin is released, which helps you to reach a transformational experience of inner calm. From this place fluctuations in the mind start to decrease and you begin to feel more at ease. The body moves into stillness and a deep feeling of tranquillity and relaxation occurs. Following deeper into the practice the brain will then begin to emit delta waves, mimicking what happens when we enter a deep restful sleep.

Taking part in a live class enables you to fully get to know and understand the practice, whilst meeting a group of likeminded people. If you can't make it to a live class I offer recordings for you to choose from to help alleviate the symptoms of stress, anxiety, and insomnia. Each summer I offer an immersive Yoga Nidra summer retreat where you can give yourself the gift of deep healing rest over a weekend.
