Whether you are anticipating the birth of your first baby or have experienced maternity leave before, the opportunity you have to manage this change in your personal and working life effectively can have a significant positive impact on your experience and on your potential later return to work.


Having children is probably one of the most exciting, rewarding, emotional and stressful experiences in equal measure.  It is one of the times in your life where you will go through true life change and for many people, that change can be a huge challenge to reconcile with your career.  


These days, having children usually coincides with a time in your life when you are making real traction in your career, and it can be very hard to know how best to navigate and adapt to everything that parenthood throws at you.

In my sessions of maternity coaching I create a confidential space to support women transitioning through key stages of their maternity. The purpose of coaching it to move forwards successively and positively, setting goals to raise self awareness and effectiveness.  I help women to plan and effectively manage the lead up to maternity leave and consider topics such a communication whilst on leave and ideal working patterns on their return. It is my aim to give mothers everything they need for a successful transition on their return to work. 


My role as a coach is to provide you with a spacious and creative thinking environment where I will help you to work out the best ways to combine your professional responsibilities with your new personal commitments

  • Feeling included, engaged, valued and supported in finding the right balance between family and work

  • Reduce stress through delving coping mechanisms for the transition back to work

  • Increased confidence, commitment and motivation

  • Creates an objective space for purposeful thinking, setting goals and focus on their implementation

  • Navigate your way successfully through each stage of your maternity and return back to work 


There is always a lot to consider and plan for in the run up to your maternity leave.  How do you effectively manage expectations with your employer about your plans for returning to work?  How can you best handle conversations about potential changes in working patterns? How would you like to keep in contact with your employer whilst you are on leave?  How can you leave things in good shape, making a lasting impact? 




I provide you with support if you find you feel differently about what you had planned once your child arrives, something which often happens.  I can also work with you to mentally, emotionally and physically prepare for your return to work.



I support you during those first months when you may experience a lack of confidence and ultimately help you make a career plan for the longer term.

For you as an individual, a programme of coaching during this time can really support you and give you the time and space to think through your worries and the “unknowns” that inevitably come with change of this scale, but can also be helpful in supporting you to become successful as a mum with a career.




  • The maternity coaching package is a series of five sessions

  • We meet twice before your maternity leave begins,  once just before your return to work and then two subsequent sessions once you have returned for longer term career sustainability.  Each session is a 90 minutes coaching session.

  • We will touch base on a monthly basis by email throughout your maternity leave.

  • We will customise the program to meet your needs and goals

  • Adhock coaching sessions can be arranged once the coaching programme has finished to continue support where it’s needed.
